How My Family Flies

This post is sponsored by Delta & American Express.

People often ask how I’m able to take so many vacations. I understand the questioning look in their eyes, I do. Flying isn’t cheap. But when my daughter declared that she wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, I was determined to make that dream happen. And, you know what, you can make dreams like that happen too. If you’re smart about how you pay your bills, you can earn the miles needed to fly around the world. In fact, I’ve taken 25 flights thanks to this little trick. Want to know what the trick is? Keep reading.

First of all, no. This isn’t some scheme or hack that will allow you to hop on a plane tomorrow. It’s simply something that many people overlook. Many airlines offer credit cards that can earn you miles that can be redeemed for flights. The mistake people make is only using the cards for travel. What you may not realize is you’re missing out on miles. But how do you use your credit card to your advantage?

Charge It – BUT Make Sure You Pay It Off

The method is simple. Each month, pay your expenses with your credit card. When the bill comes, pay off the balance. This is going to earn you so many miles! Flying with miles is awesome, especially when you earn it by purchasing everyday items like groceries and gas.  Use the card everywhere you can to maximize the number of miles you earn, and before you know it you will be redeeming miles for your free flight.

Now’s the Time to Start Racking Up Miles

Currently, American Express is offering a 75k bonus miles after spending $3,000 in eligible purchases on the Card in the first three months of Card Membership (offer valid through April 3rd 2019). If you’re using your credit card to pay your daily expenses, you could hit this number in time to reap the rewards. What would you do with 75k miles? What’s your dream location? The sky’s the limit.

If you want to start earning miles, apply for a Platinum Delta SkyMiles® American Express Credit Card and start racking up miles. Who knows? You may be able to make someone else’s dream come true. Terms apply.
